THE NEW ZEALOT

THE NEW ZEALOT is an original music project. I write songs about the things that inspire me to be better, things that give me hope, things that make me free fall in wonder, things that make my heart burn with passion, things that give give me purpose, and things that make me sad. All of which turn my heart to God in prayer and thankfulness. This project also includes songs written by friends and family that I've arranged and produced, all of whom share in this wonder for the things God has done in our lives. So I would love to invite you into an intimate piece of my world... I hope these songs are as special to you as they are to me.

A lot of these songs are written to be sung at church but I love to push the boundaries of what is considered 'church music' by purposely messing them up a little and expanding into styles and tones that aren't typically associated with christian music creation. I believe all the music of the world,  in every style and genre, finds its purpose in Jesus ultimately and one of the callings on us as his church is to reclaim and redeem all of these cultural goods for his glory.

"For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross." - Colossians 1:16-20
